Caffe Cream is an award-winning local business based on the Wirral. We proudly make all our ice cream by hand in our state-of-the-art ice cream factory and we operate four ice cream parlours in New Brighton, Birkenhead Park, Woodside Ferry Village and Birkenhead Shopping Centre.

We developed the concept for Caffe Cream during visits to Rome, Milan, Turin, Bologna and Rimini. In Italy we discovered that gelato parlours and coffee bars were the cornerstone of their communities. The problem was that there was nowhere back home that was producing artisan gelato in a community-first environment and there was no way we could satisfy our craving for authentic artisan gelato. It was here that the concept for Caffe Cream was born.

Our first store opened in New Brighton in January 2012 with the concept of bringing together small batch ice cream in a coffee shop environment and combining it with a year-round offering of coffee, brunch, lunch and desserts. From there, we have grown to four stores and our state-of-the-art ice cream factory, a first of its kind for the Wirral.

Caffe Cream's award-winning ice cream is produced by hand on the Wirral using authentic Italian production equipment and artisan batch production methods. We use locally sourced ingredients combined with ingredients imported from Italy's finest flavour houses. The head of our ice cream production, Kieran, has been with us since the early days and has honed his craft to become our gelatai maestro managing our production and ensuring that every scoop that we make meets our award-winning standards.

After years of research and developing our expertise, we have created a comprehensive range of exclusive flavours and recipes. Our team of ice cream experts have developed recipes for over 140 different and unique flavours including Salted Caramel, Accidental Jaffa Cake, Cherry Cheesecake, Key Lime Pie and even Naga Viper Chilli infused Stracciatella! Our gelato range changes seasonally so pop in-store to find our current range of award-winning homemade ice cream.

We are also proud to have developed an incredible vegan ice cream recipe. Our plant-based vegan ice cream is made using soya or coconut milk. We have developed a number of vegan ice cream recipes including Vegan Salted Caramel, Vegan Chocolate, Vegan Strawberry, Vegan Vanilla, Vegan Coconut and Vegan Oreos and Cream.

We are proud to have won numerous awards including UK’s Best Café, 15 ICA National Ice Cream Awards and 5 Great Taste Awards (including a 2 for our vegan ice cream). You can see more about our awards here.
